Blogs Written at the International Center
As a Marketing and Communications intern at the International Center of Indianapolis, I took on many tasks. One major task was blog writing. Many explored traditions around the world relating to the day or time of year. Others recapped or promoted events happening at the Center. In the fall semester of 2023, I authored or co-authored nine published articles.
For each article, I conducted research and explored the given topic in depth. Some of this research included conducting live interviews or reviewing a transcript of a previously completed interview. Creating these blogs taught me how to synthesize a large volume of information into compelling 500-word articles.
As the blog topics centered around a range of cultures and experiences, I made an effort to deliver accurate information appropriately and ethically. This meant consulting a variety of sources, including those of real people I had access to whenever possible.
Some articles were conceptualized, researched and written by only myself while others were a collaboration with other interns and team members.
This practice in research, collaboration, and message delivery prepared me for my later internships at the Secretary of State’s Office and 42 in Paris. I became a more efficient and impactful communicator while also gaining a higher level of global awareness.
